Who knew that when I was being an irresponsible delinquent in my Hampden Academy High School years, I would someday be promoting one of my books in the 8th Annual Key West Book Fair? I can assure you that one group who didn’t foresee it was my teachers. I’m sure most of them were wondering if I was going to graduate, never mind flourish. It just goes to show you that if you can survive your clueless years, then there’s hope that you can do something just a little bit larger than what you were once doing way back when.
So, this Saturday (February 24th) while I’m sitting in the hot sun and trying to entertain those who stop by for a visit, maybe I’ll take just a minute to reflect where I came from. And if by chance any Hamden Academy Grads are kicking around the neighborhood, I hope you’ll stop by for a minute or two. Maybe we’ll trade stories and ponder just how we managed to survive.
Hope to see you there.
